Despite its name, Aiseesoft Blu-ray to iPad Ripper is not limited to converting movies or other videos in Blu-ray discs into MP4 or M4V, which are the formats that your iPad can understand. Actually, it can convert into this format nearly any other standalone video file and any movie on a DVD disc. This versatility, combined with its support for an impressive list of video input formats (including HD video), makes it a highly useful tool for all kinds of users.
Its interface, attractive and nice-looking as it is, will not make your jaw drop. You will hardly find anything in its design you have not seen before, but the same could be said of hundreds of similar conversion tools. However, one has to admit, that – if not original – this interface design is intuitive, and well structured. It comes with an oversized video player for you to preview your source videos, right besides the blank space where your conversion list will take shape as you add Blu-rays, DVDs, and video files to it. Each item you add to the list can be set to produce a different output format (if so desired), and each output profile selected can be easily customized. These profiles, by the way, are clearly organized by Apple device (iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Apple TV), and they include a specific category where all your customized profiles will be store for future use.
As expected, there is also the video editor. Here you can simply apply some corrections to your videos (brightness, contrast, etc.), add a watermark to them, or even cut and trim them until they look just like you want them to. When converting or ripping your videos, the program will show you a preview window, which will allow you to see what your videos will look like once converted according to the changes made.
If you happen to be looking for a flexible, intuitive, fast, and nice-looking video converter, this is one of those worth trying.
